A5 notebook with 236 ruled pages and a Cord Blue cover. First page in is a printed bookplate, there for a name, a reward note or your contact details — the old lost-and-found trick.
Navigation is sorted: two contents pages, then numbered pages all the way through. Those numbers shift colour as you go, drifting through the spectrum as the notebook fills up.
The stock is 100gsm, smooth and fountain pen friendly, with little show through. Highlighters, rollerballs, markers, brush pens, ballpoints and ink pens all behave on it, and so do graphite and coloured pencils. We've run through plenty of markers in testing — Tombow Dual Brush, Twin Tone and Fudenosuke, Faber-Castell Pitt, Pentel Sign and brush pens, 20+ black brush pens and a range of drawing pens — and got both sides of every sheet into use. Alcohol-based markers such as the Windsor and Newton Promarker will strike through more readily.
Lay flat binding means it opens without cracking the spine: inner pages are backlined within the spine and left free to move, with the cover hinged front and back only.
On the back sits a blind embossed Papersmiths mark. Up front, a thumb print sized monogram.
Size: A5, 148mm x 205mm
